A Theater Of Dimensions

This is a tale about a girl living in a future world of a totally controlled society, without freedom and with all memories of better times erased by the government, which seems to originate from another dimension.
The girl is a superintelligent prodigy and her parents believe that she may be the one person who can stand up to the system and overthrow it.
When the girl grows up. she builds a time machine that allows her to travel back to the time when the rulers from the other dimension Conquered her planet and to warn the people of the past about this impending threat. However, as she travels back, she is trapped by those evil creatures and abducted to their dimension. The evil overlord who rules this dimension wants to steal her time machine so that he can jump to any time he likes and make the entire universe his empire, but he realizes that the girl is the only one who can control the machine, as it is connected to her brain. He tries to brainwash her. He pushes her into a nightmare mindscape of all her dark fantasies, so he can control her while she is drowning in her fears. But his plan backfires: the girl remembers how as a child, she overcame the demons that haunted her dreams by befriending them. She uses the same trick now and she manages to shatter her fears. Now the tables are turned; as her brain is connected to that of the evil overlord, she can take him on in a gigantic battle of the minds. She destroys his brain and emerges victorious.
But it is a hollow victory; she can never escape the overlord's dimension, as the overlord held the only key to it. Her only comfort is that although she has destroyed the path back to her own world along with the overlord, she has saved the future of her people, even though she herself can never return home, and her people will never know that she saved them. All that is left for her is to dream of this better world in which they now will live, without ever seeing this new world for herself.
